Sharon Van Winkle

I am a Wyoming native and was born in Sheridan, WY. Growing up, I loved the mountains, wildflowers, wildlife and any other wonderful creation of Mother Nature that we enjoy here in Wyoming. My interest in photography has been an evolution of about 30 years. I bought my first 35mm SLR camera in 1978. I love throwing on a backpack with camera in hand and "heading for the hills". With wildlife and wildflowers being my subjects for years, I looked up one day to see the beautiful surroundings we enjoy here in Wyoming. Thus landscapes and scenery were my next and most favorite photographed subjects. I have entered the digital world and am addicted to it!! About 5 years ago I decided it would be wonderful if I could paint my photographs. My dear friends, Sandy & TR, assured me that was possible. They set out on a mission to teach me how to paint. I enjoy painting very much. I paint with oils, acrylics and have worked a little with watercolors. I am still in the learning stages of transforming my photos into paintings.I am owner of Moments to Memories Photograhpy. To me that special moment in time that we want to preserve as a lasting memory, was the inspiration for my next career after retirement. Moments to Memories was born from both my passion for photography and love of those special moments that have become lasting memories for my family.
